Permanency of Micropigmentation
The permanency of Micropigmentation procedures depends on the skins ability
to absorb the pigment, the health of the skin and the pigment colour implanted.
The pigments are implanted into the upper dermal area of the skin.
The pigments will fade over a period of time varying from two to five years
after which time a re-touch will be necessary. As aging is a continual process
of natural lightening of the skin and hair, the fading rate of the pigments gives
the opportunity to change the pigment colour with each re-touch, to suit the bodies
colour changes. For example, if the pigments did not fade gradually, dark coloured
eyebrows on a twenty or thirty year old may look great, but by the age of fifty
or sixty would not be at all flattering. [Return]
Discomfort Factor of Micropigmentation Procedures
Excellent numbing agents have been especially developed for all procedures;
however, some discomfort has to be expected. The discomfort factor varies from
one person to another. Eighty to ninety percent of clients cope very well with
all procedures. There is a Topical Anaesthetic for application before the treatment
and two gels for application during the procedure for extra comfort. [Return]
The Cost of Micropigmentation Procedures
Only the very best quality equipment and pigments are used for these highly
skilled procedures. Carol Beech uses the same machines and pigments that are used
in the Training Institutes and Clinics around the world. Cost depends on the area
being treated, amount of pigment used, equipment, and topical anaesthetic, time
the treatment takes and the skill of the operator. The cost of the procedure should
include a follow-up treatment to be given six to eight weeks after the initial
treatment. The reasons for this are that the pigment may not heal evenly in the
skin after the first treatment. The client may decide that more pigment needs
to be added to a particular area to further enhance the feature. The colour may
have healed too light or may have healed too dark. These changes can be made at
the follow-up appointment. The individual cost of each area is mentioned in the
write-up regarding that particular feature. [Return]
Choosing a Technician
Cost should not be the most important issue when consulting a potential practitioner.
Most important is the training and the skill of the operator. The consultation
is of vital importance where confidence in the practitioner is established.
Make sure you are given the opportunity to discuss the shape and choose the
colour. As the client, it is important that you feel sure that the operator understands
exactly what you want. Ensure that you are given after-care instructions, so you
know exactly how to care for your investment. [Return]
