Client's Risk and Practitioners Responsibilities
The Practitioner has a responsibility to make sure the Consultation
is very thorough and the whole procedure is conducted in sequence. Also the client’s
choice of shape and colour is adhered to, and the client is given all the information
necessary regarding the treatment, healing and aftercare.
The risk the client has to accept is that the degree of fading of the pigment
is governed by the amount of bleeding experienced during the procedure, the health
of the skin and the particular colour chosen. Also if the client is very nervous
and extra sensitive to the discomfort of the treatment, it makes the implantation
more difficult for the Operator.
Touch-up Treatments
If the pigment fades in one or two small areas after about nine months or so,
it is not the fault of the operator. Any additional treatment necessary after
the first and follow-up treatment will be charged for.
Touch-up treatments are $150.00 per hour. Where the pigment has been allowed
to fade out almost completely after a number of years it may be necessary to charge
the full treatment cost as a follow-up may be necessary. This is however, discussed
with the client once the degree of work involved has been established and a price
is negotiated.
Fading Rate of the Pigments
The blue- based pigments heal darkest in the skin and stay longer longest Yellow-based
pigments heal the lightest and last a shorter period of time than the blue and
red-based pigments.
